Hey loves, how's everyone doing today? Let me tell you about my wild adventure this morning🥹🥹🥹
It’s a bright and sunny morning in Lagos and I’m on a bus to Ikeja, passing through the notorious Agege route. I had high hopes of escaping the dreaded traffic, but little did I know that traffic in Lagos is as inevitable as the sun rising😒
I woke up at the ungodly hour of 4am, snoozing and battling with my annoying alarm. Finally, around 5:15am, I mustered the energy to take a refreshing shower. By 6:30am, I was ready for work, although I may have taken my sweet time getting ready (you can't rush perfection😊😄). I reached the bus stop around 7:15am, and let me tell you, the crowd was MASSIVE😭 My heart was in chaos, torn between calling in sick or taking a leap of faith and heading to work. It's Monday morning in Lagos, the students are off to school, and the rest of us are off to work. Everyone seems to be going somewhere, and there I was, still a bit sleepy and incredibly hungry😔
The scene at the bus stop was pure chaos. People were fighting to get on buses, jumping into moving vehicles, and running after buses like their lives depended on it. And there I stood, desperately praying, "God, please, I'm still on the road’😔I was on the verge of tears as I realized I had been stuck at that bus stop for over an hour. As people were leaving, more people were arriving, and my heart was screaming in agony. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, let me tell you. 😭😫
Finally, the third bus arrived, and I had to summon all my strength to push myself inside. I clutched onto my bag for dear life because, let's face it, this is Lagos we're talking about. Now, here I am, sitting in this bus, still stuck in traffic. I contemplated texting my boss, but then I thought, "What are the consequences of deciding to work in Lagos?" 💔😔
At this point, I've made up my mind. When I'm financially stable, I'm bidding farewell to this city. This heartbreak is too much to bear. I want ease, not stress. Lagos, you're stressful!
Lagos has exhausted me with all the stress and troubles. But I won't give up, oh no. I am focused on being that elegant and classy lady who catches flights instead of chasing buses. It will be absolutely amazing🙈
As I count down to the end of this internship, I envision myself as that professional fine babe who rides in a Lamborghini on the streets and enjoys dinner by the seaside. Life will be as delightful as a plate of jollof rice😂😭😊
While we are here I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for the support and encouragement you have given me on this journey. You are my safe haven, you people inspire and motivate me. I will never forget your love and kindness. You all are truly amazing 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
So because of you I will endure all the challenges Lagos throws at me. But I know that my story will soon change 🙏🏼 I will shine like the stars in the sky, and nothing can hold me back. I believe that better things are coming. That's how it's meant to be😊
And if you feel this way too no need to worry. We will face anything that comes our way with drama and style. We will show them that we are not to be underestimated. We are ready to make waves and make things happen. Let's shine together
The conclusion of this wild adventure is that I made it to work😏albeit a bit later than expected. But hey, I survived the Lagos traffic madness and lived to tell the tale❤️🦋
Such a beautiful and hilarious read, Lagos is definitely not for the weak but I love that you have something that keeps you pushing ❤️
