Hello everyone❤️
I'm sure you've been wondering why I haven't written to you in almost a month. I’m sorry but I think it is crucial for me to write to you only when I have something to say. I only want to discuss things that I actually want to share- things that are based on my experiences and, more importantly, my feelings. That said, my mind has been really active and I'm irritated🙄🙂
First of all, shawarma no longer tastes the same! The quality keeps fluctuating like naira and the price of fuel. Believe it or not, I saw pink shawarma🥹This one na smalls sha, seeing as my uncle already owns the world's largest refinery. Somebody say ‘celebbbb!!!’ 💃🏾
According to ZIS (Zikoko's Institute of Statistics), everyone likes money. Or, at least, they want a financial connection to Dangote. But has anyone thought about if money genuinely likes them back? Evidently, money clearly adores Uncle Dangote. It reminds me of the parable of Jesus in which the master distributed talents and the servants multiplied them except for the one given a single talent. He hid it and the master gave it to someone else who could double the money. Basically, if you do well with money, money will do good to you. Word, word. It's a proven 'do me, I'll do you' relationship🤷🏾♀️
I'm trying hard not to claim that Jagaban has ruined the show because we never can tell. Fuel prices have risen from 160N to 500N per liter. Hmmm👏🏽
I'm not sure what's going on with you today, but if you're in this country with me, I'm confident you're ‘surviving’ well. I'll beg you to rest before you grow exhausted, because thinking about the difficulties in this country can cause you to lose your mind🥲.If you don't yet understand the concept of subsidies, I'd want to educate you😉
According to Investopedia, subsidy is a benefit provided to an individual, business, or organization, typically by the government. It might be direct (like cash contributions) or indirect (like tax advantages).
Fuel subsidies are a type of government intervention used to cut the cost of fuel by providing direct financial support to oil firms. As a result, the product is subsidized to customers. Nigeria is one of Africa's greatest crude oil producers, and its economy strongly relies on this resource.
That's all there is from Google.
But, using crops, I can explain what a subsidy is to you😉
Let us say the government wishes to encourage farmers to grow more crops, it may grant farmers subsidies. This subsidy may take the form of cash, which farmers could use for buying seeds, fertilizer, or other supplies. It may also take the shape of a tax benefit, lowering the amount of money that farmers must pay in taxes.
A subsidy is intended to encourage farmers to plant more crops, thereby raising food supply and lowering consumer food costs. Is that helpful? I hope so🤧
To be honest, I don't know much about what our dear Jagaban is doing or why, but the NNPC GCEO's interview with Arise News gave some clarity surrounding the withdrawal of fuel subsidies.
Anyway, that's all I have to offer for now❤️I'm simply waiting to see what Jagaban does. Let's keep praying for him because we're all in this together.
Till next time,
With Love,
Labake Baby Peperempe💃❤️
